A devastating fire broke out at the popular Arena Market in Oshodi, Lagos, on Monday evening around 9 p.m., destroying goods worth millions of naira. The blaze swept through multiple stalls, wiping out electronics, spare parts, and other valuable merchandise despite a swift response from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.

- *Henry Nwankwo's Losses*: One of the worst-hit traders, Henry Nwankwo, a dealer in washing machines and spare parts, lost all his goods. He had recently imported washing machine spare parts from China two months ago.


- *Neighboring Shops Affected*: Nwankwo noted that four or five other shops were affected, including his neighbor's shop selling solar panels.¹ ²

- *Firefighters' Efforts*: Emergency responders arrived quickly and managed to bring the fire under control by deploying two trucks from different positions.
