Things are tense right now in Aso Rock, Abuja, after a viral report claimed that Israel’s parliament just made a major move on Biafra.
The report says that during an emergency “Biafra Liberation” meeting at the Knesset — Israel’s unicameral parliament with 120 elected members (MKs) — about 70 lawmakers voted in favor of the motion. The next step, according to the posts, is that those MPs are pushing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to officially recognize Biafra as a sovereign nation.
If true, that would be huge. But here’s the catch: there’s no press release, no Knesset transcript, and no statement from Netanyahu’s office confirming it yet. Similar claims have circulated before and were debunked.
Still, the news is spreading fast among pro-Biafra groups online, and in Nigeria, anything about Biafra + foreign government = immediate political heat. Aso Rock will definitely be watching this closely, even if it’s just a rumor for now.
Do you think it’s real or just social media noise?
