President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sympathy and condolences to the victims of the recent deadly attack on Angwan Rukuba community in Jos, Plateau State, which claimed the lives of many residents.
In a heartfelt message, the President acknowledged the immense pain and trauma suffered by the victims, particularly addressing Mrs. Favour, a grieving mother who was seen in a widely circulated video clutching the body of her deceased son in agony.
“I saw your pains. I saw the video of you holding on to your dead son, and the pain and agony in your heart,” President Tinubu said. “It is only God that can give you joy and comfort. No amount of money can compensate for your loss.”
The President assured the affected families that the Federal Government would work closely with them to provide necessary support during this difficult time. He pledged that the government would do its best to stand by the victims and assist in whatever way possible.
Emphasizing the need for lasting peace in Jos, President Tinubu stated: “The best solution is for Jos to be Jos — the one people like us grew up to know.”
The remarks come in the wake of the tragic attack on Angwan Rukuba, which left scores of people dead and triggered widespread grief and outrage across Plateau State and the country.
